The Art Of Perfection

My name is Rachel Tully, I am 19 years old and I am a Fine Art student from Liverpool. I have set up this blog to share with you my art work and my inspirations. I like to experiment with all the different aspects of Art and Photography and I take great pleasure in producing my own personal body of work and see my art ability grow.

For this piece of work, our task was to draw our bags and their contents. After I drew my bag and various items I coloured it using watercolours.

Nature is something I am very interested in therefore I decided to dedicate two pages in my wreck journal to it by collecting leaves, flowers, grass and even a bird feather and glued them down. I also painted the background with shades of green using watercolours.

A fashion illustration I was working on today in my wreck journal. I simply used a fine liner to draw it and used a tea bag to stain around the edge of the paper for extra detail.

Another look I created for my circus project. As you can see from the photograph, I covered the whole of my facial skin with white face paint, applied eyeshadow to my eyelids, brushed on pink powder paint onto my cheeks and painted red lipstick onto the middle of my lips. Considering this was my first time at painting my face like this, it was fairly easy to achieve and I was pleased with my outcome.

Bernard Buffet was an inspiration to me when I was working on my circus project. His clown illustrations caught my eye and I loved the abstract element of his work.

Fashion Illustration I produced in my wreck journal. I used a HB pencil to draw it and use dmy finger tip to smudge and add shadow to my image.

This is a photograph of me in sixth form when I created my own theatrical makeup design for our circus theme. I covered my entire face with white face paint and used blue paint on my lips and around my eye. This look was quite tricky to achieve when I was drawing on the dots around my eyes although I was very happy with my final outcome.
